CAPN advocacy

CAPN considers advocacy part of the professional responsibility of its members. Over the years we have worked with partner organisations to build advocacy toolkits and skills aimed at improving our patients’ lives. Current initiatives concern medication access and formulary fairness for paediatric nephrology patients.

Other issues arise that need our voice. If there is something, from a patient or a health care provider perspective, that CAPN should be speaking about, get in touch at contact@capneph.ca. An advocacy request form is available to set out the issue.

• Medication access is not equitable for Canadian children

  An opinion editorial from CAPN on inequity in access to medications for children.

• Improving paediatric medications: a prescription for Canadian children and youth

  A white paper on paediatric medication equity from the Canadian Paediatric Society and the Goodman Family Centre Pediatric Formulation Centre, developed with paediatric stakeholders including CAPN. It sets out an approach to equitable access to medications for children in Canada.
